Mecklenburg Regional Paddlers is a Charlotte-based Internet community for
kayakers and canoeists. The MRP is a "do-it-yourself" club for friendly
people looking to meet other paddlers to organize private trips, swap gear,
learn to roll, or just share war stories over a brew. It's a "non-clubbers
club" with no officers, no dues and no bylaws. (No kidding!)
Participation is FREE, and leadership opportunities are there for the
taking. We welcome your suggestions; better yet, host a party, start an
annual event, organize a CPR class or lead a whitewater trip. There's no
need to ask permission, just do it!
If you live in the greater Charlotte metro region -- whether you paddle flat
water, sea water or whitewater -- you're welcome to join us at our weekly
practice sessions or monthly social get-togethers. If you're looking to get
into the sport, we can help -- but you'll need your own boat and gear, and
we recommend taking a class or hiring an instructor to learn the basics.
